- Fabricio Oberto will miss time with recurring atrial fibrillation, his third such incident. Get better, Fab. Update: By way of tweet, Oberto says he’ll be back on the court soon. Good to hear!
- Spurs.com has posted shootaround footage from this morning.
- I’m a little late commenting on this, but the Spurs have reassigned Malik Hairston to the Toros. With the return of Ginobili and the late season emergence of Ime Udoka, this is a smart move. It’s actually a win-win-win. One win apiece for the Spurs, Hairston and the Austin Toros. Prior to his call up and signing, Hairston was, perhaps, the best player in the D-League. The combination of DeMarcus Nelson, Malik Hairston and Marcus Williams ought to be fun to watch. That’s a better 3 player combo than anything the NCAA has to offer, and without a word about Dwayne Jones. I wish I lived in Austin.
- Henry Abbott chimes in on the travel debate found within the comments of this thread. He writes: “Ginobili gathers the ball with his right foot down, near the free throw line, and then takes two big power steps, without dribbling, before launching the shot. NBA referees are instructed that’s legal, even though the rulebook has never allowed it.” Direct your comments to the original thread.
- Speaking of which, one fan has provided a fantastic “I’ll see your bet and raise it” response to the Manu Ginobili promo with this video:

I wish you lived in Austin as well.
Quite the team they’re putting together right in time for the playoffs.. Could probably beat the Twolves!

Scott,
Strange, too. They hit a slump just as the talent base reached high octane levels.

I think they got it wrong with the Gino promo. Should have been the Duncan 3 ball if you want to capture the Spurs/Suns series accurately.
Would be an amazing promo to watch over and over, Gino driving, kicking out, Duncan squaring up, shooting the 3 and in. Duncan celebrated while the crowd goes nuts.
