The Best Moments of the 08-09 Season: Commenter Submissions

Alright ladies and gentlemen, it is your opportunity to contribute. I’ve deliberately left a few moments on the table and I’m sure there are a few I haven’t thought of that you’d like to talk about. So over the weekend email me ([email protected]) a YouTube link and 150-250 words on your favorite moment from this past season. I’ll sift through them and choose the ones I like best. Include how you would like to be referred to (either your real name, your commenter name, or anonymous) and I’ll begin posting them this upcoming week.

  • The Block: I don’t know how to do the links you request, but for me, the play of the year was Manu’s block of Dwayne Wade.

  • Manu’s dunk on NOLA’s Armstrong… Everybody was still doubting if he was back and about his health until that dunk…. unfortunately we know what happened afterward but it was a violent as the one on Diop on that remembered back to back 37 pts performances sans TD vs the Mavs and Jazz in 08… even got a punch from Josh Howard on the play and Salvatore didn’t call a foul on it… this one is as good as that one and I’m sure it’ll crack the top 10 best of the season league wide…

  • I will concur with agutierrez. That block was ridiculous. Here’s the link if needed.

  • In my opinion, one of the better moments of the season came not too long ago actually. The spurs were in their last game of the regular season at home against the hornets, and managed to tie the game at the end of regulation with a Finley 3 point dagger. Since I somewhat expect the spurs to finish games with a 3 point heroic shot however, this wasn’t my favorite moment. My favorite play of the game was done by Ime Udoka in overtime. Udoka sealed a victory by making a reverse dunk on Rasual Butler in the closing seconds.
Now, a reverse dunk is probably not something that fans from other teams would consider memorable, but when you’re as depleted athletically as the spurs are, it’s something to rejoice over. I honestly don’t think any spurs fan did not love that moment, and from Udoka? I didn’t know he had that in him.
Anyways, I couldn’t find the link on youtube but found it in another website.
