Doesn’t matter if he plays for Milwaukee, retires, or returns to the Spurs, he needs to get his number retired one day. He’s been as much a proud Spur as anyone, and every bit as vital and anyone on all those championship teams. He deserves it, not numbers wise, but he’s meant a lot to the franchise and that should mean something

No, no, no… Thank YOU, Bruce Bowen! You have been such an important part of the Spurs and I do agree with what’s being said that the Spurs ain’t gonna be a three-time champion in the 00’s without you in the line up. You are the one who deserves the Defensive Player of the Year Award for being able to contain Kobe, LeBron, CP3, Wade and the other teams’ superstars when it counts, and losing you is definitely not just a big loss for the Spurs basketball team, but in the Spurs family as a whole. I do hope you’d return to the Spurs as you deserve to retire as one. I’m not doubtful that I’d get to see your jersey number get retired in the future. You are and you will always be a SA Spur to me. I will miss Bruce and I think that the Spurs will def retire his number. The spurs tend to reward players like him, he may not be hall of fame nba but he is hall of fame spur player. We have retired elliot and avery and we should lift bowens number to the rafters. Also I like his laugh when asked if this makes the spurs better. Great guy and great teammate.

Bruce, you’ll always be a Spur no matter where you go. I respect everything you’ve done these past years so much, and you will be sorely missed.
