As much good as Fab did while he was here I dont really want to see him back. The FO has said that they are getting younger and more athletic. Bringing Oberto back into the fold just seems counter productive with that.

Wanting Oberto's return might be ignoring the fact that he has not "maximized TD's time" going on two years now. I think Pop thinks Oberto gets in the way of our slashers. Oberto isn't the shot blocker we need to help inside. If we resign Oberto, we might as well resign Bowen while were at it, give Finley a contract extension, and ask Horry and Kerr if they still think they can ball. FOrward, ever forward.

Please, not Frye, I hate to say it, because i'm taking someone else's words, but he's like a poor man's Bonner. The only thing that he has going, is that he can shoot, Bonner could shoot better, rebound better, defend better, and has more tenacity. If Bonner beats you at defense and rebounding, you know you have a problem. I'm also a knicks fan (insert insult here), and i've watched him play while he was in New York, the guy is softer than my pillow.

Here's the problem with bringing Fab back, if Ian or Duncan goes down for any period of time we have no true big. Blair is new, Bonner only shoots 3s and Fab is extremely athletically challenged. If the Spurs do bring back Fab, they must continue to pursue Sheed or Mcdyss or even Channing Frye. This would mean no spot for Bowen and one of the young prospects (Williams, McClinton, Hairston or Gist) would not make the team.

If the Spurs are trying to maximize their TD time, I say go after Oberto. In recent history, many of our big free agent signings have not worked out well the first year. With us already experimenting with Jefferson, let's stick with something we know, like Fab. (By "us" I mean Greg, Tim, and the guy who writes on his computer: me).

Speaking of bigs, the Celtics are apparently trying to woo Sheed. Nothing we haven't heard before, but I guess now its official.

Yeah, the Bucks are trying to get Cleveland or Orlando to take Bruce and his contract. One of them might bite, which would suck for the Spurs.

The Bucks are probably going to dangle Bowen on a hook for the entire month.

I'd welcome Oberto's return. That is, if he's been cleared by doctor's following treatment for his heart condition on June 4th.

IIRC, MIL has some time to offer bowen in trades and are looking at all their options right now.

Seriously thought Bowen would've been released before Fab. What does this mean for our big man hunt? Do we just resign Oberto and go after a another wing? Is he even an option anymore?
