Classic skinny Gervin. He weighed 44 pounds, soaking wet. I believe that is James Silas in the foreground. Since they are playing the Rockets, this picture was after Spurs made the mad jump from ABA to NBA (also the ball does not have stripes.)
I watched the ABA Spurs in person, usually batteling the Pacers. Jack In the Box used to give out 2 for 1 ticket coupons in exchange for a burger. So, as the big ticket date that I was, I would take my honey and buy her a Jumbo Jack, get the 2 for 1 coupon and top the date off with a game at the Arena. Get in … sit where-ever you want!
Silas was Capitan Late and Ice was … Ice. There were others, Larry K, Swen N., the Whopper (Billy P.) and Artis G.
