4-Down Podcast, Ep. 63: How the Spurs can beat the Heat

Good afternoon from Miami, everybody. Less than five hours until opening tip, so Andrew McNeill and I thought a pre-game podcast would be a good idea as Game 1 approaches.

In this episode of the 4-Down Podcast, we talked about the coaching matchup between Erik Spoelstra and Gregg Popovich, the individual battles we’ll see on the court and how the Spurs’ pick-and-roll offense will deal with Miami’s swarming defense. We also gave our official predictions of who wins the NBA Finals. Let us know what we can do better in the comment section and give your predictions as well. Also, subscribe to the 4-Down Podcast on iTunes if you’d like. It just makes it nice and accessible.

Game time is almost upon us, so enjoy the NBA Finals! Should be fun.

Gary Neal is proving to be worthless. A 60% of a used to be T-Mac is better than a 100% Neal at this point. Want to see T-Mac play. His defense (in the least) is better. And who knows….could be better on offense if given the chance.

I don’t know if T-Mac is the answer, but I cannot figure out why Gary Neal just played 9 minutes in the first half of an NBA finals game.

I think it mostly had to do with Kawhi’s foul trouble. And we know Pop doesn’t trust guys who are late comers to the team, so I don’t know why people are surprised that he’s not playing McGrady.

Not surprised. Just disbelieving he’s diminished so far that he’s not viable to play as good as he used to play. Maybe not as good would be true. But not good enough to participate? What do I know. I’m a measly fan and not a professional.

But I will say this….Jeff Van Gundy makes himself look pathetic every time he opens his mouth.
