48MoH TV: Show 6

by

We had another episode of 48MoH TV this week. This time it was just me. All by myself. I talked about the Spurs relative lack of activity during the free agency period and how difficult it is for them to get a trade done.

One thing I want to mention is to head to 48 Minutes of Hell immediately after Saturday night’s first preseason game with the Spurs for a live postgame show. That’s right, we are debuting a live postgame show for the 2011-12 season on Saturday night. We’ll talk about the game, how the young guys like Kawhi Leonard and James Anderson look and whatever else comes to mind. So make sure to head to 48minutesofhell.com immediately after the game. Don’t worry, we’ll still have a written recap, this is just a good way to immediately address the game and answer any questions you guys may have.

If it’s your first time checking out 48MoH TV and you’re unfamiliar with VOKLE, it’s an online video-streaming program that allows you the viewer to interact with the conversation via text or video questions. If you’re going to submit a video question, make sure to plug in some headphones and find a quiet spot.

I also think the Spurs will have an advantage over most western conference teams because they are ready to go with the same core, while other teams are in still in flux. But this advantage will diminish as the season goes on and it will be interesting to see if their record is good enough to actually rest Tim and Manu enough games. Then will be the time of the young teams. As we saw last season the playoff ranking really is not that important anymore, it just would be good to end up in the Top 4.

RJ will likely stay because I do not see a trade happening. And I would be furious if they give up a James Anderson, Kawhi Leonard or Tiago Splitter just to get rid of RJ. Then better keep him and see what version 3.0 brings to the table.

@Timmay: Didn’t the Spurs use the amnesty clause on RJ? Thus rumors have been swirling regarding an offer to Josh Howard.

Okay, I’m wrong. They’re seeing if they get Josh Howard to amnesty RJ.

    Who’s this? http://www.nba.com/spurs/photos/media_day_1112?page=19

Last photo from media day; 33 isn’t listed on current roster.

Also, is Steve Novak even at training camp?

I did not want Howard anyway … Caron Butler or Grant Hill would have been great … but I keep RJ over Howard any day of the week

According to Jeff McDonald, and Manu’s twitter feed, Steve Novak just got to San Antonio today.

Im thinking think your right bout san antonio not being in the flux helping us. I also believe being that this season is gonna be shorter. Might be HUGE!!! I mean shit look at last season. Amazing but we got tired because of our age and lack of size. This year im thinking san antonio is gonna be just fine. ITd be nice for a big man to help Duncan out more. But its prolli his last year and im hoping he goes out with a championship just like his mentor David Robinson did.
