An Avalanche of Spurs Commercials Just Hit the Internet

by

Each year when HEB releases its set of commercials featuring Spurs players, it’s like a pre-Thanksgiving basketball Christmas. The newest advertisements in the long-running series popped up on the Internet on Tuesday, and they’re as wonderful as always. And they’re featuring a few more cameos each year, too, it seems. These ads are some of the best things about the NBA, and that’s not an exaggeration. Maybe it is. I don’t know. But they’re amazing.

But wait! There is another newly released Foot Locker commercial featuring Tim Duncan. And I’ve got to say, it’s quite good. It gives the HEB commercials a run for their money, and that’s not something I’d say lightly.

I’m honestly not quite sure what to do with this avalanche of commercial greatness, especially given the rarity of a national advertisement featuring Duncan. The writing in these is great, and I’m glad we get to see this side of these guys before the next era of Spurs basketball becomes the present and not the future. Enjoy!

“……and I’m glad we get to see this side of these guys before the next era of Spurs basketball becomes the present and not the future. Enjoy!”
Your statement right there sums it up Matthew.
The end is near for a couple of our guys…and the championship runs of the last two seasons shows the NBA/basketball world that this team is driven to make the final chapter something to remember.
However—the prolific output of these endorsements (which have been going on for over a decade) are the icing on the cake to the now-detailed and heralded “Spurs Blueprint -Culture- Family- Outlook- Philosophy- Plan- System” —It shows that these players really like each other, and that their camaraderie is deep-rooted-and inclusive of all teammates. That is just as important a factor in this franchise’s success as the ” (all) Pros & (journeyman) Joes, the Xs an Os”.

Foot Locker was hilarious. The HEB commercials were good too, as always.
