Spurs Waive Jerrells

The Spurs have waived Curtis Jerrells. The roster now stands at 16. The final roster spot has come down to a contest between Malik Hairston and Marcus Williams and, by the looks of things, Hairston is the clear favorite. It’s always possible that the Spurs could cut someone with guaranteed money, but that seems unlikely.

A Few Pregame Thoughts

The elation we all feel when we watch Tim, Tony and Manu play even semi-competitive games such as tonight’s preseason opener against the Rockets is justified, but for genuine intrigue direct your eyes towards the other end of the bench. Some of the most interesting questions facing the coaching staff this season revolve around our big men. The frontcourt has depth and a diversity of skill sets. Spurs Waive McClinton, Add Dwayne Jones

The Spurs announced that they have waived Jack McClinton and added Dwayne Jones, a former Toro who has also spent time on the Cleveland, Boston and Charlotte rosters. After a poor summer league performance, McClinton’s chances of making the team did not look good. We here at 48 Minutes of Hell wish him well, and [...]

Report: Spurs to Sign Keith Bogans

According to AOL Fanhouse’s Chris Tomasson, the Spurs intend to sign swignman Keith Bogans to a one-year, $1.03 million guaranteed deal. The 29-year-old, 6’5″ SG began last season with the Orlando Magic but was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in February. Signing Bogans, who is considered a solid defender, speaks to the front office’s concerns [...]
