France Takes Care of Business, Destroys Belgium

France needed a 5 point victory to advance past Belgium into Eurobasket proper. They got that, and tacked on an additional 33 for good measure, winning this morning’s contest in a 92-54 rout.

I’m happy for Tony Parker, Ian Mahinmi and Nando De Colo on a personal level, and I think this is good news for San Antonio as well. Playing organized ball, against high level competition, is a boon for Parker and Mahinmi as they will, theoretically, come into Spurs camp in shape and sharp, and hopefully riding the momentum of a successful summer.

France will play Germany in their opening game, September 7.  Schedule here.

    Although it might be the best thing for the French team, I’m still a little dissapointed that Ian didn’t play too much, especially if they had the blowout secured after the first half
