France vs. Spain on ESPN360

by

If you have the time, I suggest you take in this afternoon’s contest between France and Spain in the EuroBasket Quarterfinals, available live on ESPN360. France is undefeated so far but the tournament holds no tougher opponent than Spain. A victory today by France could make Les Bleus the new frontrunner.

The key to that victory has to be scoring at the rim, which will be no easy task considering the size of Spain’s frontcourt (Marc and Pau Gasol) and their perimeter length (Rudy Fernandez). In an excellent preview, Jay Aych of the Painted Area said he expects to see Spain feature “some zone alignments and sagging man” on defense, in the hopes of turning France into jump shooting team. Sounds about right to me.

After you’ve watched the game, swing back by 48MoH. This old warhorse is gonna be getting back in the ring and bringing you a good, old fashioned recap.

    Graydon,

That site does seem to have the feed, though it seems to be a soap opera right now, I know the game hasn’t started so I’m crossing my fingers. I’m desperate for some quality basketball already.

    Heres the link.

Honestly, I’m happy that they lost… time to get Tony out of danger.

    John,

France still has games in the loser’s bracket, so it’s not like Tony is going anywhere. Eurobasket works a bit differently from US-style tournaments, in that all 8 teams that make the quarterfinals play three games to determine their position. France still has two more games, which is the same number they would have if they had won today.

I’m afraid Parker won’t stop playing for France until he wins a championship for them, or he gets to old

    … curses.
