Go Get ‘Em, Fin
Mike Monroe quotes Michael Finley:
“I don’t know about the other guys,” he said, “but I’m a little up in age, so I know my window of opportunity — not only for advancing in the playoffs, but being in the league — is closing. So I, myself, want to take advantage of these opportunities that I have and not take for granted any game, any practice or any meeting. “I’m soaking it all in, knowing the time for me to hang it up is near.”
Since joining the Spurs in 2005, Michael Finley has exacted revenge against the Mavericks by improving his regular season numbers come postseason. If this is his last playoff series against the Mavericks, I would want nothing more than for this trend to continue.

Finley is the offensive x-factor. He averaged just under 10 ppg this season. Recall what an excellent playoffs he had in 2006, hitting clutch shots against Sacramento and Dallas, to say nothing of his dunks on Dampier. We all know he can and will hit the big shots and Pop enjoys calling plays for him out of timeouts. That this is against his former employer and early in the post-season could mean Fin has a series where he averages 11-14 ppg and/or has a throwback 20pt game, as he did versus Denver in ’07. One game winner and/or big scoring night could be the difference between winning in 5-6 games or facing an exhausting and toss-up game 7.
