The tenacious defensive playmaking of Kawhi Leonard

In his second season, we’ve seen the disruptive nature of Kawhi Leonard‘s defense. Thanks to long arms and extremely large hands, Leonard is able to make plays on defense unlike any other player on the Spurs roster. He’s had multiple five steal games and those turnovers forced often lead to points on the other end.

Leonard has a subtle tenaciousness to his defense as he’s able to get his long fingers into passing lanes and dribbling areas to poke the ball away. As much as the Spurs can gameplan for teams defensively, Leonard’s playmaking is one thing that can’t be counted on from game-to-game. But when it happens, it’s usually enough to put the Spurs over the top.
