Other People: NBA Today and Adande
Graydon Gordian is repping for 48 Minutes of Hell on today’s NBA Today podcast. I’m swimming in sanguinity about all he has to say.
Elsewhere J.A. Adande takes a stab at a question we’ve previously addressed in our Countdown to 2010 posts. You can read the evolution of those posts by following the bouncing ball here, here, here, and here.
In principle, Adande is correct. I appreciate his measured optimism. But I’m not quite so sanguine about the 2010 cap projection. So, let me temper Adande’s remarks with a quick rehearsal: the cap is likely to decrease, the Spurs may extend Manu Ginobili prior to 2010, Roger Mason Jr.’s contract is up in 2010, Drew Gooden is now a factor in the equation, and, technically, Tiago Splitter has a buyout in 2010. The Spurs will have money to spend, no doubt, but perhaps not as much as we think. That’s all.
