Pregaming: Spurs vs. 76ers
AT&T CENTER — After the big loss to the Knicks on Thursday, the Spurs look to rebound against the Philadephia 76ers, losers of their last two games. We previewed the game earlier, and now there’s just a couple of notes to get you ready for tip-off.
- Stephen Jackson will not play against the 76ers after spraining his right ankle when he landed on a courtside waitress against the New York Knicks on Thursday night. The waitress was taking the order of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Pop deemed the unusual injury “A mayoral mishap,” and said that Jackson is 50/50 to play against the New Orleans Hornets on Monday.
- There was a bat loose on, or above, the AT&T Center floor during Nando De Colo’s shootaround time. Someone on the Philadelphia end of the floor shouted “Come get Manu out here to smack it down.” That didn’t happen, despite Ginobili’s past success. Arena security was aware of the bat and working to get rid of it, so it’s probably gone. Or it’s not. Sit in the upper deck at your own risk.
