Pregaming: Spurs vs. Kings
AT&T CENTER — I’m over my sickness and back at the AT&T Center for tonight’s game pitting the Spurs against the Sacramento Kings.
- Gary Neal (tightness in left calf), Stephen Jackson (sprained right ankle) and Boris Diaw (lower back strain) are all out tonight for the Spurs. According to Gregg Popovich, Diaw will be out “for a couple of games, for sure.”
- To combat the lack of forces for the Spurs, Cory Joseph was called up from the Austin Toros and Aron Baynes came back after a one-game assignment in the D-League. Baynes hadn’t received a lot of playing time with the Spurs lately, so the team decided to get him some playing time in Austin. “They had a game [on Thursday night] and we didn’t have anything going on and he hadn’t been playing,” Pop said. “He hasn’t had a chance to get out there much, so playing in Austin once in a while is good for him.” Baynes had 16 points and nine rebounds in a 97-95 win for the Toros over the Iowa Energy.
