The Admiral Challenge Update

Last week we spoke with David Robinson, in part, to get word out about The Admiral Challenge. The Admiral Challenge is a Carver Academy fundraiser in which Robinson is calling on Spurs fans to make a one time donation of $2.99 to Carver. As an inducement, Robinson is offering airfare, hotel accommodations and seats next to him for Friday’s game against New Orleans to the person who recruits the most donors. I signed up, but with the promise of giving away (random drawing from 48MoH donor pool) the prize to one of our readers, should I win. So to qualify for the drawing, I have to win and you have to give. I’m currently in third place with 34 donors. The current leader is at 52. Help me close the gap, and we’ll secure a memorable night for one of our readers. Someone like you.

Thanks to everyone who has already contributed their $3.

  • David Robinson kept this team and Tim Duncan in San Antonio and built a culture of success that continues to prosper today. Let’s all thank him and support a cause that is impacting many lives in San Antonio. Let’s get Tim up to 100!! Spread the word, cmon Spurs fans!!!

  • I suppose if I give twice it only counts as 1 donor right Tim?

  • Jordan, it counts as 1 for Tim’s leaderboard but you get 2 entries in the random drawing for another pair of seats with David. You can give up to 4 times a day for that drawing.

  • Hey Guys,

Thanks for doing this. I just kicked in some money-it shows me as coming from Iowa (that is where my cc’s billing address is), but I am a Spurs fan living in Santiago, Chile-do you think the airfare still applies? :) Either way, money well spent!

  • Tim and Graydon:

You guys are great to support the Admiral in this way. I just made my donation and will ask friends and family to contribute and help Tim take the lead for recruits. Keep up the good work!

  • Tim:

When I donated yesterday, I was your 45th “recruit,” but as of 12:20pm ET today, the site only shows you as having 36 recruits. What gives?

  • @TrueFan, Great question. I checked into the problem. This is the answer I received:

“Tim, the site is up and running. Your number on the recruiting board will be set back to 46 instead of 35 shortly. The technical problem yesterday caused the leaderboard to go back a few hours.”
