The Important Things in Life

Hey Everybody,

I wanted to inform everyone that over the next 4 or 5 days I won’t be posting as often as I have been recently. I’m headed to New York City tomorrow to visit my girlfriend and we get to see each other so infrequently that, honestly, basketball unquestionably comes second during that time. I’ll probably have something prepared for Friday and I also plan on writing a reflection on Sunday’s game against the Celtics sometime Monday morning but aside from that don’t expect much out of me. Luckily my visit coincides with a reasonably long stretch with no games.

As always, Tim will continue to hold it down here at 48 Minutes of Hell. I actually think he relishes these long game-less breaks because it gives him an opportunity to use his encyclopedic knowledge of our trade situation (the man is a living, breathing trade machine) to scheme about what deft move would put us right back at the top of the title hunt. Enjoy the weekend. Go Spurs.

    i got to thinking about the upcoming celtics/spurs match up, and me and my friend got to talking about how the celtics’ success is attributed to their systematic play.. then i got to thinking about how similar those two teams are.. the dominant/defensive big man who can score(kg/duncan), a consistent scorer(parker/ray allen), and an explosive swingman(pierce/ginobili).. the celtics are like a younger, more aggressive version of the spurs! but i don’t doc rivers is anywhere near the same level as pop.. while the celtics have the aggressive edge, in a 7 game series, i don’t see doc rivers outcoaching pop.. who do you think will come out on top?

    Park, I agree with you on coaching mismatch, but the celts three is very different from ours.
    For one, Allens not a creator like Parker, respective fans of both Ginobili and pierce would have a million reason why they are different. And then KG can’t carry a team on his back to multiple championships. And Rondo may be better than Allen when Spurs top three are far above next tier.

    For my part, I can’t help but view the Celts as a microwaved team of superstars a la Malone peyton Lakers, not forged like the Spurs. These rich, storied franchises that can keep overpaying until they get a winning combination annoy.
