Tony Parker will start against the Heat

So, about that injury. Yeah, apparently not a big deal. According to Spurs Head Coach Gregg Popovich, Tony Parker will start on Friday night against the Miami Heat.

“He’ll start,” Coach Pop said. “He’s only been gone like a day and a half.

“Everybody thought he was going to be gone forever, including me, and the foie gras and truffle treatment worked really well.”

Parker missed the last two games with a strained left soleus that he aggravated on Sunday against the Memphis Grizzlies.

  • Do you believe in miracles! Love it! Go Spurs Go!

  • Huzzah!

  • Ugh… I hope he is really ok…. seems a little quick….. maybe another few days off just to be safe?

  • TD=Best Ever, do you really think that Pop, the rest of the coaching staff, and the trainers would let Tony come back if he wasn’t 100%? Highly doubtful.
I’m not worried about it, and neither should anyone else.

  • From two-four weeks to two days….

    All I can say is….

    GO SPURS!!!!!

maybe they’ll be cautious and limit him to 15 minutes or 20

  • A few of us talked about it pre-game, and we figured that the trainers decided that he couldn’t do any serious damage playing on it. With the kind of spotlight this weekend will have, Parker probably really wanted to play. So, the training staff probably gave him a shot to numb the pain so he could play on it.

  • Andrew, if thats the case then maybe the Spurs decide to play him against the good teams and rest him against the weak ones. Anyway around it, things were looking super bleak with Parker out for a month. This is the biggest Spurs surprise so far this year.

  • @Hobson13

It’s a possibility. Who knows, maybe the Spurs rest Parker against the Pistons on Wednesday.

  • Congratulation Spurs players, coaches, staff and fans. Spurs by 30 against the “Beat”les. Great statement by the franchise.

    Go Spurs Go!

  • Tony Parker was fantastic! +31 unbelievable

  • Nobody see that: wire wire win!!!!Since first 5 second with Ginobili!!!

  • spurs roster + chemistry > heat roster

    Q.E.D.

Who needs a Big 3 when you got a WHOLE TEAM?!

  • Jeff Van Gundy promised to Mark Jackson (via text) during the third quarter that the Heat would come back to win the game. How does that crow taste Jeff?!?

Loved the ESPN announcers’ lame “The Heat will be ready when the playoffs start” apology during the fourth when the Spurs were up by 22.

Suck on that 30 point shellacking, LeBrick, Erica Dampier, and ESPN!

  • Was planning on a nice eloquent post. Figured I better go with “DAYUM!” and call it a night.

Lover how the Heat would pull within 20 and the commentators would scramble to say “the heat are right back in it with that nice little run”

Bonus quote: “we could be seeing history tonight. No other team has blown a 24 point lead and lost, and come back from a 24 point deficit and won on back to back nights.” Did that guy see the same first qtr the usually reserved TD was watching?

@Andy. Can’t argue with that beautiful mathematical expression

“Who needs a Big 3 when you got a WHOLE TEAM?!”

I nominate that as quote of the day.

    Best Damn quote EVER!

  • Capt. Late… come out, come out were ever YOU are! Or is it Capt. HATE! We have our phasers on KILL for you! (ha, ha!) Any who, it was the GREAT PROPHET, Capt. Late who said that he had sources close to TP’s rehab team that his injury was MUCH worse off than we all expected, & it would take much longer than the 2 to 4 weeks to heal. Uh -Huh? Thank goodness that we SPURS FANS weren’t hanging on EVERY word the prophet was saying! WHEW! Any who, that was a pleasant surprise to see TP, & what a night he had! Now let’s go & get those FAKERS, hoping that the Spurs will play with the same intensity as they did with EL HEAT, or is it EL CHEAT? Hey, GO SPURS GO, & GIT ONE 4 THA THUMB!!!
